Craig "Moe" DeWalt, 64, of West Mifflin, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at Jefferson Regional Hospital after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. He was a loving husband, father and friend. He was born July 14, 1951, in McKeesport, a son of the late Charles Walter DeWalt Sr. and Gizella (Jean) Kozak DeWalt. Moe was a self-employed master carpenter, as well as a retired maintenance worker for Riverview Homes Association, who loved life to the fullest. He was "bigger than life" to his wife, Bev, his family and all that knew him. Moe's biggest enjoyment of life was fishing on the New Jersey party boats with his buddy, Tim, and gatherings with his family. He was an avid Steelers, Pirates and Penguins fan, enjoyed having a beer, floating in his pool and listening to the game. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Beverly (Linn) DeWalt; son, Benjamin (Rachel) DeWalt, of Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.; daughter, Katharine L. DeWalt, at home; and granddaughter, Mollie Rose, whom he adored. He is also survived by his brothers, Charles (Joyce) DeWalt, of West Mifflin, and Carl "Bucko" (Dawn Hoffman) DeWalt, of Maryland; and sisters, Charlotte (Ed Mogus) DeWalt, of White Oak, Carla (Alan) Ochap, of McKeesport, and Cyndi (John) McGinnis, of Washington, Pa. Moe is also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, who loved their Uncle Moe, as well as many, many friends, who will never ever forget "Moe." Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300, William B. Schleifer, supervisor, William Brian Schleifer, funeral director. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Thomas Lewandowski officiating.
