David M. "Kope" Kopolovich, 62, of McKeesport, formerly of Duquesne and West Mifflin, died Friday, May 6, 2016, at Forbes Hospital, Monroeville. He was born Feb. 4, 1954, in Pittsburgh, son of Agnes (Rago) Kopolovich, of West Mifflin, and the late Michael "Kope" Kopolovich. He was retired from Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Braddock. He was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish, Duquesne. He was a graduate of West Mifflin North and Bethany College. He was a quarterback from West Mifflin North and was a four-year letterman on the football team at Bethany College as a star safety. He was the assistant coach of the 1977 Duquesne championship team and he loved gardening. He was the beloved husband of 38 years to Nancy (Gibbons) Kopolovich; father of Stacey (Brian) Tharp, Kelly (fiance, Scott Knoche) Kopolovich, twin sons, David C. (fiancee, Maria Wallace) Kopolovich and Dr. Daniel (Tijana) Kopolovich; grandfather of triplets, Benjamin, Holden, Kylen and one on the way; brother of Kim (Ted) Spear, the late Amy (surviving spouse, Dean) Conrad; and also aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and Henry the dog. Visitation will be from noon to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300, William B. Schleifer, supervisor, William Brian Schleifer, funeral director. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Name Church of Christ the Light of the World Parish with the Rev. Thomas Lewandowski, officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
