Erma J. Zapf

Erma J. Zapf, 77, of Bristol, Rhode Island, formerly of Whitaker and Duquesne, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at her home. She was born Feb. 14, 1939, in Duquesne, a daughter of the late James and Tillie (Cirbus) Dismachek. She was a retired secretary from Caplan Engineering in Swissvale. She was a member of St. Rita Church, Whitaker, and Homeville Senior Citizens. She was the wife of the late George B. Zapf; mother of Gary Zapf, of Homestead, Charles (Annette) Zapf, of Whitaker, Donna J. (Rodney) White, of Bristol, Rhode Island, and James (Trishank Nandakumar) Zapf, of Whitaker; also five grandchildren, Patricia Zapf, Zachary Zapf, Marissa Zapf, Eva White and Elsa White; and sister of the late James Dismachek, Robert Dismachek and Thomas Dismachek. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, at MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300, William B. Schleifer, supervisor, William Brian Schleifer, funeral director. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at St. Rita Church, Whitaker, with the Rev. Albert Zapf, her nephew, officiating. Entombment in All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
