Ethel (Koncz) Wargo, 94, of Ross Township, formerly a longtime civic-minded resident of Duquesne, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at the home of her daughter in Ross Township. Born Sept. 26, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Elizabeth Koncz. She was a homemaker, a lifelong member of Hungarian Reformed Church, Duquesne, and a past member of the Women's Auxiliary of American Legion Post No. 448. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul Wargo Sr.; mother of Paul Wargo, of Swissvale, Nancy Wargo and companion, Garrett Brown, of Ross Township, and the late John Wargo; grandmother of John Paul Wargo and Ava Wargo and their mother, Amy Smith; sister of Frank Koncz, of Cleveland, Ohio; and many dear nieces and nephews and almost son, Ray Gunn, of Fort Myers, Fla. Also, she was predeceased by eight siblings.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, in the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300, William B. Schleifer, Supervisor, William Brian Schleifer, Funeral Director. Private funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct.10, 2015, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ilona Komyathy. Interment will be in Hungarian Reformed Cemetery, West Mifflin.
