Gerard C. "Jerry" Qualters, 76, of Cranberry Township, formerly of West Mifflin, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, in St. John's Specialty Care, Mars. Born Nov. 29, 1939, in Duquesne, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary (Houston) Qualters. Jerry was retired from Motor Coils in Braddock as a coil repairman and from Fort Pitt Foundry as a welder. He attended St. Joseph Church, Duquesne, and was a member of the North American Fishing Club and North American Hunting Club; the Duquesne Annex Volunteer Fire Department, the Dravosburg VFW; and the Teutonia Mannerchor Club in Duquesne. He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Donna (Snyder) Qualters; father of Timothy (Jodi) Qualters, of Goodyear, Ariz., Denise (Todd) Powell, of Mars, and the late Gary Qualters; grandfather of Kaley Qualters, Hannah Qualters and Ethan Qualters; and brother of Sister Lucille Qualters, CDP, of McCandless, and the late Theresa Johnstone and the late LaVerne Milford. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, in the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300, William B. Schleifer, Supervisor, William Brian Schleifer, Funeral Director. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at St. Joseph Church, Duquesne, with the Rev. James Seeger as celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Name Cemetery, West Mifflin.
