Gertrude M. (Vitati) Pomay

Gertrude M. (Vitai) Pomay, 91, of Duquesne, died Saturday, May 23, 2015, in Baldwin Health Center. Born Oct. 4, 1923, in Hays, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Mihislana) Vitai. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Duquesne. She was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Louis S. Pomay; mother of Francis "Fran" (Sharon) Pomay, of Greenock; and grandmother of William (Kristin) Hutchison and Lindsey (Dan) Duda. Also surviving are nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Joseph Vitai, George Vitai, Nicholas Vitai, Elizabeth Bowersox and Helen Rudman. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300, William B. Schleifer, supervisor, William Brian Schleifer, funeral director. Blessing service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015, in the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church with the Rev. Thomas Lewandowski as celebrant. Interment in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
