Helen Ann Vash

Helen was born and raised on the Northside of Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Dorothy and George "Fats" Katich, on November 29, 1954, and departed this earthly life July 7, 2016, Duquesne, PA. A dedicated employee of ALCO Parking for 42 years, she made sure each and every employee received their paycheck on time. She had many dear friends at work who were like a second family to her. She was married to husband, Mark, for over 30 years. His untimely passing, July 3, 2011, left a tremendous void in her life. For several years, they had enjoyed camping in Punxsutawney, and the motorcycle culture together. Her favorite pastime was ordering gifts for others on QVC, as she was a very giving person. Surviving are her brother, Edward (Cathy) Katich; niece and godchild, Alyssa; nephew and godchild, David Obradovich and fiancée, Sarah; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Victor and Joanne Vash; brother-in-law, Thomas (Amber) Vash; sister-in-law, Jennifer (Mike) Olson; and nephew, Jaxon, whom she met for the first time on Father's Day 2016. She will be truly missed by many relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice , or the Diabetes, Heart, or Alzheimer's Association s. Services were private.
