James A. Prokay, 66, of West Mifflin, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, at home. Born May 3, 1950, in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Alexander and Mary (Liszka) Prokay. He formerly worked as a welder at U.S. Steel, Duquesne Works and retired from Allegheny County as a mail clerk. He was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish, Duquesne, and the Teutonia Mannerchor Club, Duquesne. He was the father of Hillary (Bryan) Dranko, of Liberty Borough; grandfather of Lily and Addison Dranko; and brother of Carole (the late David) Betzner, of Taylor, Mich., late Robert (surviving spouse, Kathleen) Prokay, of Charlotte, N.C., Daniel (Linda) Prokay, of Atlanta, Ga., Jerry (Becky) Prokay, of Erie, Janet (Steve) Andreoli, of North Huntingdon, Guy (Russlyn) Prokay, of Canton, Ga., and Wayne, Prokay, of Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, in the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300, William B. Schleifer, Supervisor, William Brian Schleifer, Funeral Director. Blessing service will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Name Church of Christ the Light of the World Parish, with the Rev. Thomas Lewandowski as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Hedwig Cemetery, West Mifflin.
