Karen ((Weber)) Valente

Karen (Weber) Valente, of Swanton, Md., (Deep Creek), formerly of Duquesne and Munhall, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at home in Deep Creek. She was born Dec. 6, 1953, in McKeesport, daughter of the late Louis "Bomie" and Virginia "Jean" (Puskar) Weber. She was a retired claim representative for Travelers Insurance, Pittsburgh. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Duquesne. She was the beloved wife of 35 years to Joseph D. Valente; sister of Louis (Debbie) Weber, of West Mifflin, Donald (Kathy) Weber, of West Mifflin, Allan (Karen) Weber, of West Mifflin, and Greg (Lynn) Weber, of West Mifflin; aunt of Dana, Louis and Donald Weber, Brian Crux, Michael Mehaffey and Kalie Ofciarcik, and also great-nieces and nephews; godmother of Dana Weber and Clifford Grierson; and is also survived by her dogs, Sophie, Sadie and the late Banjo. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2016, at MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300, William B. Schleifer, supervisor, William Brian Schleifer, funeral director. Blessing service will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2016, at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Duquesne, with the Rev. Thomas Lewandowski. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Mifflin.
