Mary Ellen (Flaherty) Miklos

Mary Ellen (Flaherty) Miklos, 90, formerly of Duquesne and White Oak, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at Arden Courts, Jefferson Hills. She was born Sept. 16, 1925, to the late John J. and Helen T. (Dempsey) Flaherty. She was a secretary at the former Duquesne Times and sales clerk at Kaufmann's, Pittsburgh, also at Gimbel's, Pittsburgh, and a mall hostess at Hill's in Kennywood Mall. She was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish, Duquesne. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, keeping up with current events and always being on the go. She will always be remembered as a kind, loving and gentle person. She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew "Tim" Miklos; mother of Timothy Miklos, of North Versailles, and Christine "Chris" (Mike) Drecnik, of White Oak; grandmother of Timothy Miklos, Tracy Miklos, Jeffrey (Heather) Drecnik, Josh (Leanne Harkins) Drecnik and Janelle (Ben) Filippini; great-grandmother of Rose Miklos, Alexa Drecnik, Andrew Drecnik, Betsy Drecnik, Kiera Drecnik and Molly Filippini; sister of Patricia Flaherty, of North Versailles, and the late John C. Flaherty, Joseph M. Flaherty and Rita Nedzbala. 
Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2015 and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME INC,. 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300, William B. Schleifer, Supervisor, William Brian Schleifer, Funeral Director. Blessing service will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Name Church of Christ the Light of the World Parish with the Rev. Thomas Lewandowski officiating. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
