Richard H. Ruhl, 86, of West Mifflin, formerly of Venice, Fla., died Thursday, May 28, 2015, at the home of his daughter, Sharon. He was born Dec. 17, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of the late Stephen and Edith (Uhlig) Ruhl. He was retired from U.S. Steel, Duquesne Works, as a millwright. He also retired from H.J. Heinz as supervisor of security. He was a former member of San Pedro Church, North Port, Fla., and a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish, Duquesne. He did needlepoint, made Tiffany lamps and enjoyed woodworking. He proudly served his country during World War II with the Marines and later reenlisted in the Army after the Korean War. He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Marlene (Steiner) Ruhl; father of Sharon A. (Alan) Horvat, of West Mifflin, and Melanie (Thomas) Gombos, of Palmetto, Fla.; grandfather of Alan Shawn (Rebecca) Horvat, Justin (Kaylee) Horvat, Kristin (Chad) Keilman, Thomas Gombos and Bradley Gombos; great-grandfather of Morgan Horvat and Lily Anna Horvat; and brother of Jack Ruhl, of Duquesne, Donald Ruhl, of Gloucester, Va., and the late Earl Ruhl. There will be no visitation. His funeral services and burial with military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2015, his 65th wedding anniversary, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with the Rev.
