Victor R. Kowalski, 82, of Elizabeth Township, formerly of Duquesne, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, at Forbes Hospice at West Penn Hospital. He was born March 15, 1933, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John and Helen (Radzazewski) Kowalski. He was retired from U.S. Steel Homestead Works with more than 30 years of service as a blacksmith helper. He was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish in Duquesne, the Teutonia Mannerchor Club in Duquesne and the Moose. He enjoyed spending time with his family at our trailer. He was the beloved husband for 63 years on Sept. 8 to Shirley J. (Fullard) Kowalski; father of Gloria (Ron) Schafer, of Altamonte Springs, Fla., Lisa (Craig) Marasco, of Elizabeth Township, Kimberly Moore, of West Mifflin, and Julie (Brad) Danjou, of Polk City, Fla.; grandfather of Melany (Rob) Schafer Yep, Brooke (Tim) Barnard, Elliott, Madison and Savannah Moore and Dane and Andra Marasco; great-grandfather of Sawyer Barnard; brother-in-law of Gladys Reihms, of Brentwood; also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Florence, Stephan, Walter and Samuel Kowalski and Rose Marie Pall. Visitation from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300, William B. Schleifer, supervisor, William Brian Schleifer, funeral director. Blessing service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Hedwig Church of Christ the Light of the World Parish with the Rev. Thomas Lewandowski. Interment in St. Hedwig Cemetery, West Mifflin. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the Light of the World Parish, 32 S. First St., Duquesne, PA 15110.
