William J. "Shag" Bost, 77, of West Mifflin, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at home. He was born May 6, 1938, in Duquesne, son of the late John L. and Mary (Jupin) Bost. He was a retired welder from U.S. Steel Edgar Thomson Works, with 45 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Duquesne. At one time he was an avid hunter. He loved his grandchildren above all. He was the husband of 53 years to Elaine (Komyanek) Bost; father of William (Renee) Bost, of West Mifflin, Richard (Cindy) Bost, of West Mifflin, Gary Bost, of West Mifflin, Kristen Bost (Angela), of North Huntingdon, and Erika (Frank) Provance, of West Mifflin; grandfather of five, Jordan (Rebecca) Dillard, Brittany Bost, Brandon Bost, Frank Provance and Faith Provance, and also three step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren; brother of Ronald (Angie) Bost, of West Mifflin, Thomas (Carole) Bost, of South Park, Mary Lou (Tom) Lykowski, of West Mifflin, and the late John (surviving spouse, Janet) Bost, of West Mifflin; and is also survived by nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation. Arrangements are entrusted to MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300, William B. Schleifer, supervisor, William Brian Schleifer, funeral director. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, in St. Joseph Church, Duquesne, with the Rev. Thomas Lewandowski and the Rev. Joseph Grosko. His burial service will be private.
