Daniel J. Shanley Sr.

Daniel J. Shanley Sr., age 75, of Duquesne, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, in Jefferson Hospital. Born in Pittsburgh on July 27, 1949, he was the son of the late Cornelius “Neal” and Elizabeth (Lydon) Shanley. He was a retired baker at Wal-Mart and also worked at G&K Bakery. He was member of the former Holy Name Church-Duquesne, enjoyed antiques, flea markets and music. He liked listening to his juke box.

He is the husband of Anita (Godine) Shanley for 57 years; father of Daniel J. Shanley Jr. of Irwin, Richard Thomas Shanley of Whitaker and Joseph Michael Shanley of Duquesne; grandfather of Amber Shanley, Cameron Shanley, Brandon Ausbrook, Brittany Fallon and Austin Kirkey; brother of Noreen (Victor) Bertoty of Bridgeville, Patrick “Tommy” (Janny) Shanley of Duquesne and Michael (Evelyn) Shanley of West Mifflin; and father-in-law of Florence Shanley of West Mifflin. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters Betty (late Don) Palmer, Patsy (late Chuck) Collinger, Joseph Shanley, and Kitty (late Bob) McIntyre. His is also survived by nieces and nephews.
