Ernestine A. Jeroski, age 83, of North Huntingdon, formerly of West Mifflin, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024, at The Remington Senior Living and Memory Care, McCandless Twp. Born in Duquesne on March 5, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Ignatius and Loretta (Maslanka) Duran.
Ernestine was a retired nurse anesthetist at UPMC Magee, primarily in the delivery room. She earned her nursing degree from Braddock Hospital and then a Master’s Degree from California State University. She was a member of the former St. Hedwig Church-Duquesne and was active with and very proud of her Polish heritage, taking multiple trips to Poland. She was an excellent cook and baker and loved to sew and travel.
She is the beloved wife of 59 years to Ronald T. Jeroski; mother of Cara Jeroski (James) of Allison Park, and Amy (late Jason) Chuderewicz of Virginia Beach, VA; grandmother of Lauren Chuderewicz, Isabella James, Justin Chuderewicz, Ethan James, Ava Chuderewicz and Alyssa Chuderewicz; and sister of Loretta (Francis) Waszkiewicz of West Mifflin and Claudia (Joseph) Pilarcik of Calcutta, OH.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 2-7 p.m., at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLIAM B. SCHLEIFER, SUPERVISOR, WILLIAM BRIAN SCHLEIFER, FUNERAL DIRECTOR, where a Blessing Service will be held on Friday, December 13, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., in St. Agnes Church-West Mifflin, with Rev. Daniel D’Antonio, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation at bcrf.org.
