Evelyn E. Rusteikas

Evelyn E. Rusteikas, 98, of Duquesne died Saturday, March 18, 2023, near the home of her son at the Westminster retirement community in Lake Ridge VA. She was born November 1, 1924, in McKeesport, daughter of the late John and Sophie (Ranchik) Slaney. She was preceded in her death by her husband of 55 years Leo F. Rusteikas, who died on September 7, 2011, and her sisters Mary Slaney and Irene (Slaney) Sovak.

She is survived by her son Gregory (Lori) Rusteikas of Manassas VA; grandchildren Scott (Melissa) Rusteikas of Concord NC and Christi (Matthew) Marcheschi of Buffalo Grove IL; great grandchildren Gianna, Gemma, Natalie, Andrew, and Finley.

Evelyn was a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Lake Ridge VA, and a longtime former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church (St. Thomas The Apostle Parish) in Duquesne.

Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Sunday at Maloy-Schleifer Funeral Home, 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300. Blessing service will be at 9:30am Monday at the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00am in St. Joseph Church, Duquesne, with the Rev. Dan Sweeney officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Charity of Pittsburgh, 212 9th St., Pittsburgh, PA, 15222.
