Ferdinand Sauer Obituary

Ferdinand “Ferdie” Sauer age 85, of West Mifflin, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Manor Care-Whitehall. Born in Pittsburgh on November 15, 1935, he was the son of the late George V. and Helen (Voss) Sauer. He was a retired School Crossing Guard for West Mifflin, a former self employed carpenter, former West Mifflin Park Attendant, a Security Guard at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Shop Foreman for the former Bamford Motors, then Laidlaw, a member of the West Mifflin Annex Volunteer Fire Department where he was the former President and a Firefighter. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, St. Agnes Church. He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Henrietta (Reinhardt) Sauer; father of Dennis (Susan) Sauer of West Mifflin, Denise (Rich) Sabolcik of South Park, Dorene Francette of West Mifflin, Darla (late Dan) Brady of West Mifflin; grandfather of Adam (Lindsey) Sabolcik, Haley Sabolcik, A.J. Francette, Alex (Candace) Francette, Ashley Francette, Kristi (Cas) Hruska, and Jake Hruska; brother of Whitey Sauer of Sterling, VA, Carol Shaeffer of Wasilla, Alaska, Regina Shields of Georgia, Robert Sauer of Gettysburg and the late Sally Martin, Dolly Thompson and Kathy Hussak. There is no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at a future date at the Ryan Hacke Memorial Park in West Mifflin.
