Genevieve A. Tankosich, age 94, of West Mifflin, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025. Born in New Kensington on August 8, 1930, she was a manager at Cox’s Restaurant in McKeesport and an escort at Children’s Hospital. She liked to read a lot, do word search puzzles, enjoyed her garden of flowers, music, befriending strangers and baking.
She is survived by her children Annette Tate of Tucson, Arizona, Mark (Yasuko) Tankosich of Hiroshima, Japan, and Mike (Georgia) Tankosich of Upper St. Clair; grandchildren Adam Lambert, Mallory (Matthew) Carpenter, Genevieve Tankosich and George Tankosich. She was predeceased by her brothers Daniel (late Nel) Coury and John Coury, and sister Jessie (late Tom) George of Houston, TX.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, from 1-3 and 4-7 p.m. at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLIAM B. SCHLEIFER, SUPERVISOR, WILLIAM BRIAN SCHLEIFER, FUNERAL DIRECTOR. A Funeral Service will be held at 5:30 p.m., during the visitation on Monday, at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Plum Creek Cemetery at a later date.
