Harry G. Smith

Harry G. Smith, age 73, of Irwin, passed away on September 14, 2021, at Forbes Regional Hospital. Son of the late Harry G. and Alice Louise (Scott) Smith, he was born in Pittsburgh on March 17, 1948. He was a school bus driver for 1st Student for the Jeannette School District, a member of the V.F.W. in Irwin and liked to golf. He served his country in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart and later joined the Army. He is the father of Douglas C. (Nicole) Smith of North Huntingdon, Bradley E. (Sophie) Smith of California and Ian G. (Christina) Smith Sr. of Pittsburgh; grandfather of Ashley and Steven Phipps, Evan and Alana Smith, and Aubrey, Pressley and Ian Smith Jr.  Memorial Visitation will  be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLIAM B. SCHLEIFER, SUPERVISOR, WILLIAM BRIAN SCHLEIFER, FUNERAL DIRECTOR. Private family committal service will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Please note: MASKS MUST BE WORN IN THE FUNERAL HOME DURING VISITATION.
