Helen M. Janus

Age 103, of Lincoln Place, passed away on December 28, 2020 at UPMC Mercy. Born in McKees Rocks on October 28, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Adalbert and Leopoldina (Vavrick) Jozefczyk. She was a retired clerk at Kaufmann’s-Downtown, was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-St. Hedwig Church, and was an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sigmund Kruszka and her second husband, Casmer Janus. She was the step mom of Alan (Linda) Janus of Bethel Park and the late Robert Kruse; grandmother of Jessica Janus; and sister of Eleanor Sweterlitsch of Moon Twp. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, where a blessing service will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Hedwig Church with the Rev. Michael Conway officiating. Burial will follow in St. Hedwig Cemetery. Due to PA Covid-19 mandates, visitation is limited to 10 people in the funeral home at a time and masks must be worn.
