Janet E. (Matis) Peterson

Janet E. (Matis) Peterson, age 73, of West Mifflin, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at her home. Born in Pittsburgh on July 9, 1950, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna Mae (Puskar) Matis. She was a hairdresser in Squirrel Hill, enjoyed making crafts, jewelry and wreaths and was a wonderful cake decorator. She was the wife of the late David R. Peterson; mother of Hope Peterson of West Mifflin, Linsey Havel of Cranberry Twp. And Timothy Peterson of Duquesne; grandmother of Emma, Derek, Peyton, Hannah, Lucas and Claire; sister of Virginia “Ginger” (Thomas) Cunningham of Mississippi and Charlotte Hruska of Florida. A chapel service will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 12:30 p.m., at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville.
