John T. Baker Jr., age 63, of West Mifflin, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, in UPMC Mercy. Born in Homestead on March 1, 1962, he is the son of Ruth (Coughanour) Baker of West Mifflin and the late John Baker Sr.
He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in chemical engineering and was employed at Veolia. He loved Steeler football and had his dream job as an usher at Acrisure Stadium. He enjoyed football, watching sports and listening to live music. He proudly served his country in the Army.
John is the father of Olivia (Rich) Thomas of Ocean City, MD and grandfather of their daughter, Lydia Thomas and the father of Jonathon (Valerie) Baker of Dover, DE; companion of Dolores Murray of Ocean City, MD; and brother of Kenny Baker, Kevin (Brenda) Baker of Dravosburg, Karen Hannold of Meadville, Todd Baker and Kristen Baker. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLIAM B. SCHLEIFER, SUPERVISOR, WILLIAM BRIAN SCHLEIFER AND ALLAN J. WEBER, FUNERAL DIRECTORS, where Military Honors will be accorded at 10:30 a.m. Following visitation, services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church. Duquesne, at 1:15 p.m., with Pastor John Gropp officiating.
