Joseph Cabray, age 89, of West Mifflin, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, in Jefferson Hospital. Born in Duquesne on February 3, 1936, he was the son of the late George and Margaret (Yellich) Cabray. He is retired from U.S. Steel Duquesne Works where he worked in the B.O.P. Accounting Department. He was a retired school bus driver with 25 years of service. He was a member of the Praise Assembly Church in North Versailles where he served as a Deacon and was on the Board of Directors. He coached little league and eventually became a manager, winning 2 world series. He had a real estate license, worked at the P.A.A., loved dancing, was his mother’s caregiver when she was in poor health and had the opportunity to meet and shake Bill Mazeroski’s hand one hour after he hit his famous home run. He was a huge Pittsburgh sports fan.
Joseph is the beloved husband of Angeline “Angie” T. (Kypros) Cabray for 67 years; father of Joseph George Cabray of West Mifflin and the late Theodore “Teddy” Cabray; grandfather of Kristin (Jason) Schmidt of Windsor, Colorado; great grandfather of Olivia Schmidt, Judah Schmidt, Samira Schmidt, Keilana Schmidt, and Zekiah Schmidt; brother of the late Helen Sotak, late Anna (late Steve) Vasko, twin brother, late Johnny Cabray, and late Robert (late Marjorie) Cabray. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., at the Praise Assembly Church of God, 245 Foster Rd., North Versailles, PA 15
