Joseph D. “Dave” Malloy, age 87, of West Mifflin, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at home. Born in West Mifflin on January 1, 1935, he was the son of the late Joseph and Colette (Schweitzer) Malloy. He was a retired car salesman from Babe Charapp Ford in McKeesport and, in retirement, he worked as a security guard at Forbes Nursing and Rehab in Pittsburgh. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Name Church, proudly served his country in the Air Force and enjoyed fishing, cooking and all sports. He is the beloved husband of 60 years to Elizabeth “Betty” (O’Leary) Malloy; father of Mary Beth (Glenn) Artim of West Mifflin, Joseph P. (Lisa) Malloy of West Mifflin, and the late David G. Malloy; grandfather of Joseph M. Malloy, Carrie Artim, Ryan Artim, and Kristie (wife Julia) Dean; brother of Patricia (late Ronald) Weinstein of Murrysville and Fred (late Nancy) Malloy of Elizabeth. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLIAM B. SCHLEIFER, SUPERVISOR, WILLIAM BRIAN SCHLEIFER, FUNERAL DIRECTOR. A Blessing Service will take place at the Funeral Home on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., with Deacon Dan D’Antonio, officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Name Cemetery, West Mifflin, with Military Honors.
