Joseph Raymond Stankay, age 92, of Forest Hills, formerly of Braddock Hills, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, in Juniper Village. Born in Braddock, PA on May 5, 1932, he was the son of the late Joseph Andrew and Susan Sophia (Ulias) Stankay. He was a retired pipe fitter from the LTV Corporation, a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Sacred Heart Church and a former member of the former St. Michael Church and Good Shepherd Church in Braddock. He proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War.
He is the brother of Vincent (Josephine) Stankay of West Palm Beach, FL. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Elmer (late Agnes) Stankay, Albert (late Olga) Stankay, Andrew B. (late Irene) Stankay, Florence (late Edward J.) Holas, and Martha (late Frank) Lipowcan. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLIAM B. SCHLEIFER, SUPERVISOR, WILLIAM BRIAN SCHLEIFER, FUNERAL DIRECTOR. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, Braddock Hills. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Mausoleum of All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors.
