Loretta A. “Lori” (Duran) Waszkiewicz, of West Mifflin, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, on her 75th birthday. Born in Duquesne on May 28, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Ignatius and late Loretta (Maslanka) Duran.
Over her lifetime, Lori worked as a food service employee and a home health aide. She provided special care to both of her sisters during their illnesses. She was a member of the former St. Hedwig Church in Duquesne.
Lori loved cooking and gardening, and she was fantastic at both. By far, Lori made the best stuffed cabbage for her family and friends to enjoy. She had the biggest heart, was a mother to others—a true angel here on earth. Lori was kind and generous to everyone. Even when she had very little to give, she always found a way to help people in need.
Family was extremely important to Lori, and she was the one who maintained close relationships with immediate and extended family. She was the loving wife for 53 years to Francis “Jerry” Waszkiewicz; mother of Erin Ruttenberg of West Mifflin and the late Erika (husband Garret survives) Roberts of West Mifflin; grandmother of Jeramy Roberts, Sierra Roberts, Madison Ruttenberg, and Shannon Maxwell; great grandmother of Nevaeh McCoy and Heaven Ruttenberg; sister of Claudia (Joseph) Pilarcik of Calcutta, OH and late Ernestine (late Ronald) Jeroski. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
