Michael F. Welsh, age 77, formerly of Duquesne, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Allegheny General Hospital. Born in McKeesport on August 1, 1944, he was the son of the late Michael “Moe” and Mary (Molanick) Welsh. He was retired from U.S. Steel-Duquesne Works, was a former member of the former Christ the Light of the World Parish, Holy Name Church, now St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, and he enjoyed all sports. He is the father of Carrie (Chris) Simpson of Jefferson Hills, Michael (Marta) Welsh of Miami, FL and Tiffany Welsh of Castle Shannon; grandfather of Ashley (Robert) Nebel and Makena Cooke; great grandfather of Robert Charles Nebel III; brother of Jackie (late Carl) Kisner of Florida and Richard Welsh of Texas. There will be no visitation. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Name Church, Duquesne, of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. John Bachkay officiating. Private family burial will be held in St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cemetery, West Mifflin.
