Raymond J. “Coal Man” Majzer, age 81, of West Mifflin, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at UPMC McKeesport. Born in Glassport on September 8, 1939, he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (McCluskey) Majzer. He was a retired truck driver for DeRosa Trucking Co. in Dravosburg, drove truck at the Edgar Thompson Plant and was currently a school bus driver for A.S.K., in Wall, PA. Ray was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Name Church, enjoyed fishing, car cruises, polkas, dancing, eating a good meal and socializing but most of all time spent with his family and grandchildren. He proudly served his country in the Navy. He was the husband of the late Margie (Parise) Budesky Majzer; companion of 26 years to Rita Kiczan of West Mifflin; father of Raymond (Gerry) Majzer of Augusta, GA, Robert (Debbie) Majzer of Brownsmill, NJ, Joseph (Jessie) Majzer of Augusta, GA, Christine (late Ronald) (Richard Ohler) Loop of Duquesne, Tracie (Robert) Fox of Elizabeth, Tricia (Mike) Hosack of Munhall, John Adam (Ellen Malenke) Budesky of Mechanicsville, VA, Patti (Stephen) Haut of Shippensburg, PA, Sheldon Majzer of Millersburg, OH, Troy (Dustiny) Majzer of Millersburg, OH; extended children, Becki (Mike) Travis of McKeesport, Shawn (Meghan) Kiczan of Belle Vernon, Brian (Marcie) Kiczan of Lincoln Place; 28 Grandchildren; 35 Great Grandchildren; brother of Adelaide (late Jerry) Teahan of Bridgeville, Victoria Majzer of Washington, DC, Mary Ann (late Brent) Swope of Delaware, Ronald “Stovepipe” Ardilletz of Glassport; brother-in-law of Kathy (Eddie) Christopher of Greensburg; predeceased by brothers Edward Majzer, Joseph Majzer, Robert “Froggy” McMahon and grandaughter Angela Carman. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 and Friday, February 12, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, PA, 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLIAM B. SCHLEIFER-SUPERVISOR, WILLIAM BRIAN SCHLEIFER-FUNERAL DIRECTOR. Funeral will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 with a Blessing Service at the Funeral Home at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Name Church, Duquesne at 10:00 A.M. with the Rev. Thomas Lewandowski officiating. Burial will follow at St. Hedwig Cemetery, West Mifflin, with Military Honors.
