Robert J. Butella Sr.

Robert J. Butella, Sr., age 91, of West Mifflin, passed away on September 6, 2021, at Grandview Estates, Elizabeth. Born in Clairton on June 15, 1930, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Anna (Hunar) Butella. He was a retired Mail Carrier from the Duquesne Post Office and later the Mail Truck Delivery person. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Trinity Church and served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was the husband of the late Dolores “Dolly” (Kushnir) Butella; father of Robert J. Butella Jr. of Elizabeth, Gary Butella of West Mifflin and Ronald (Anne) Butella of Perryopolis; grandfather of Robert (Hillary) Butella III, Bryan Butella, Brandon Butella, Ashley (Steven) Curry and Joshua (Brandi) Butella; 4 great grandchildren; brother of Donald (Theresa) Butella, Marian Dimpel, Eleanor Bane and late Nicholas (late Martha) Butella. There will be no public visitation. A Blessing Service will be held at Holy Trinity Cemetery, West Mifflin, on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Thomas Lewandowski officiating.
