Thomas B. Huwalt Jr.

Thomas B. Huwalt Jr., age 75, of West Mifflin, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at his daughter’s home. Born in Duquesne on March 18, 1947, he was the son of the late Thomas B. Huwalt Sr. and late Helen (Smocer) Huwalt. He was a former welder with U.S. Steel-Duquesne Works for 19 years, a retired Stationary Engineer for Allegheny County at the Greater Pittsburgh International Airport and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish-Holy Trinity Church. He was a master of tinkering, loved fishing, trap shooting and camping in Erie. He proudly served his country in the Marine Corps. during the Vietnam War. Thomas is the beloved husband of 53 years to Georgean (Perhac) Huwalt; father of Scott (Erin) Huwalt of South Park and Amy (late Edward) Wilson of Port Vue; grandfather of Maura, Zachary, and Daniel Huwalt, Ayla and Avery Wilson and preceded in death by grandson Joshua Huwalt; brother of Gary Huwalt of White Oak; uncle of Eric Huwalt, Melissa Hathaway and Ashley May. He is also survived by a great niece and several great nephews and his mother-in-law Pauline (late John) Perhac. There will be No Visitation. Service will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies followed by Military Honors.
