Thomas Andrew Minnick, age 72, of Elizabeth, PA, formerly of Duquesne, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Jefferson Hospital. Born in McKeesport on September 19, 1953, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Daley) Minnick.
Tom retired from Precoat Metals after more than 30 years as a slitter operator, where he worked banding raw steel coils. He was a member of Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish – St. Michael Church in Elizabeth. A longtime bowler, he also enjoyed playing cards, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends. Over the years, he built and installed solar rooms, taking pride in working with his hands. He was a NASCAR and drag racing enthusiast and a devoted Steelers fan. He especially enjoyed trips to the beach and visiting family in Charleston, South Carolina.
Above all, Tom cherished his family. He loved his wife deeply and took great pride in the lives and accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He was a proud “Pap Pap,” a title he wore with joy and love.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Clarice (Hoover) Minnick; his children, Tracy (Harry) Romesburg Jr. of Greenville, PA, and Thomas (Cynthia) Minnick Jr. of White Oak; his stepdaughters, Andrea Minford and Tina Suleski; and his cherished grandchildren, Harry Romesburg III, Kaytlin Romesburg, Tayla Minnick, Thomas Minnick III, Carter Minnick, Alex Minford, Ryan Minford, Gabriella Suleski, Gillian Suleski, and Emma Suleski. He is also survived by his siblings, William (Lisa) Minnick of West Mifflin and Mary Jo (Julius Johnson) Minnick of Duquesne, as well as many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Minnick, and his sister, Gloria Putz.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLIAM B. SCHLEIFER, SUPERVISOR, WILLIAM BRIAN SCHLEIFER AND ALLAN J. WEBER, FUNERAL DIRECTORS. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Thomas Dansak, officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth.
