Vincent J. Fertal

Vincent J. Fertal, age 70, of North Braddock, passed away on Holy Thursday, March 28, 2024, at UPMC Shadyside. Born in Braddock, PA on April 15, 1953, he was the son of the late John “Ferty” and Dorothy “Dolly” (Donato) Fertal. He was an over the road truck drive with Barr-Nunn Trucking Company and a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish-Good Shepherd Church. He proudly served his county in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his former wife, Nancy (Banks) Fertal; children, Michael (Ana) Fertal of Naperville, IL and Lindsay (Erin) Fertal of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Alina Fertal and Lucas Fertal; and sister Christine “Chris” (Tony Matrazzo) Fertal of North Braddock. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 2-8 p.m., at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLIAM B. SCHLEIFER, SUPERVISOR, WILLIAM BRIAN SCHLEIFER, FUNERAL DIRECTOR. A Blessing Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 10:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., in Good Shepherd Church, Braddock, with Rev. Daniel D’Antonio, officiating. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with Military Honors.
