I am sorry about your loss. Death is always difficult to deal with, no matter the circumstances. Even though I did not know James, I try my best to encourage the bereaved with a comforting thought from God's word the bible.
Notice these encouraging words from the bible book of Romans 6:23. It reads, "For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord." When Jesus died for our sins, it gave us all, including those asleep in death, the opportunity to live forever. This provides a true hope for us to be with our loved ones again.
