Lois M. Soltis, 89, of West Mifflin, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at Vincentian Home. She was born March 19, 1926, in Duquesne, daughter of the late Daniel and Irene (Airhart) Sommerville. She was a seamstress for a cleaner and enjoyed crafts, ceramics and was a wonderful baker. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, West Mifflin. She was the beloved wife of 67 years to the late Albert Soltis; mother of Sister Linda Soltis SCN, of McCandless, Janice McDowell, of West Mifflin, and her former spouse, Keith McDowell, the late Raymond (surviving spouse, Mary Ellen) Soltis and the late Sandra Soltis and late Martin Soltis; four grandchildren, Cheryl (Andrew) Martel, Stephany (fiance, Matthew Swalley) Soltis, Chad McDowell and Matthew McDowell; and one great-grandson, Charles Raymond Martel. She was predeceased by her brother and sisters, Daniel Sommerville, Dorothy Day, Audrey Bonacci and Irene Herbert.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300, William B. Schleifer, supervisor, William Brian Schleifer, funeral director. A blessing service will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church with the Rev. Joseph Grosko. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, West Mifflin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of Charity of Nazareth.
